Taurito Caves

As an extension of Taurito Reef, the caves of Taurito are a wonderful dive with much marine life and also the most amazing rock formations, canyons and caves to swim in and around. We follow the coastline around to the caves and depending on tide we enter the caves and surface inside to take a look. Thousands of years ago the lava flow, which hit the ocean and cooled, formed these wonderful caves. We do this dive is two ways, either entering and exiting at the beach in Taurito, or entering the water at Puerto Mogan and doing a drift dive all the way back to Taurito. Either way the dive is around 50-60 minutes, really relaxing and diverse with natural and man-made rock formations. The marine life is similar to Taurito reef with the added bonus of the occasional Sting Ray or Common Ray flying majestically by or sleeping in the sandy patches. Moray Ell’s pop their heads out from the rocks, jacks fish dart in and around the rocks trying to catch some tasty fish unawares and Stargazer’s can be spotted nestled in the sand staring at the surface.
